Minnesota Milk's Producer Enrichment Program

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then Minnesota Milk’s new Producer Enrichment Program (PEP) was designed for you!  For one year, participants will attend dairy-related events broadening their skills at being a Minnesota milk producer.  Upon completion of the program, participants will be reimbursed for registration costs they incurred during the year and will join the Minnesota Milk PEP alumni.

This is an elite program limited to 14 new participants each year.  Participants are selected on an annual basis by a current Minnesota Milk Director.   If you are interested in enrolling, contact your Minnesota Milk Director today!

To successfully complete the program, participants must attend events approved by Minnesota Milk totaling 150 points by September 14, 2013.   Approved events include:

Minnesota Milk will periodically notify participants of additional events not included on the list above.

Participants are also encouraged to get involved locally and watch for additional opportunities. This could include Extension programs, public relations/ social media training, environmental program, milk marketing cooperative annual meeting/ district meeting, Chamber of Commerce meeting, farm supply cooperative meeting, etc. To get approval for additional events, participants may contact Minnesota Milk if the event meets the following criteria:

  • Increases knowledge of practices and professional development skills to implement on participant’s operation.
  • Improves understanding of the dairy industry.
  • Increases awareness of the effects and implementation of state and federal policies.
  • Enhances communication skills to members within and outside the industry.
  • Event is coordinated by Minnesota Milk, University of Minnesota, or an associate member of Minnesota Milk.
  • Prefer the event take place in Minnesota.

Each participant that successfully completes the program will receive reimbursement for registration fees up to $500 (receipts must be submitted to Minnesota Milk). They will also be asked to complete an online evaluation of the program and will be recognized as Minnesota Milk PEP Alumni.
